নেত্রকোনার পূর্বধলায় বালুবাহী দুটি ট্রাকের মুখোমুখি সংঘর্ষে হান্নান মিয়া (৩৫) নামের এক ট্রাক চালক নিহত হয়েছেন।
মঙ্গলবার (২৩ মার্চ) বিকেলে দুর্গাপুর শ্যামগঞ্জ মহাসড়কের গোজাকালীকান্দায় এ দুর্ঘটনা ঘটে। নিহত চালক হান্নান মিয়া ময়মনসিংহ জেলা সদরের বাইপাস এলাকার আইয়ুব আলীর ছেলে।
পুলিশ জানায়, দুর্গাপুরের সোমেশ্বরী নদী থেকে বালু বোঝাই ট্রাক ময়মনসিংহ যাওয়ার পথে বিপরীত দিক থেকে আসা অপর আরেকটি ট্রাকের সঙ্গে মুখোমুখি সংঘর্ষ হয়। সংঘর্ষে দুটি ট্রাকই দুমড়ে-মুচড়ে যায়। এ সময় আহত হন দুই চালকসহ চারজন। এদের মধ্যে চালক হান্নান মিয়াকে উদ্ধার করে ময়মনসিংহ মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে নেয়ার পথে তার মৃত্যু হয়।
এ ব্যাপারে পূর্বধলা থানার অফিসার ইনচার্জ (ওসি) মুহাম্মদ শিবিরুল ইসলাম জানান, ঘটনাস্থলে পুলিশ পাঠিয়ে আহত চালককে ময়মনসিংহ নেয়া হয়। তবে ময়মনসিংহ নিয়ে যাওয়ার আগেই চালকের মৃত্যু হয়েছে বলে সংবাদ পেয়েছি। এছাড়া যান চলাচল স্বাভাবিক রাখতে দুর্ঘটনায় ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত গাড়িগুলোকে সড়ক থেকে সরিয়ে রাখা হয়েছে। এখন পর্যন্ত এই ঘটনায় কোনো অভিযোগ দায়ের হয়নি।
A truck driver named Hannan Mia (35) was killed in a head-on collision between two trucks carrying sand in the east of Netrakona.
The accident took place at Gojakalikanda on Durgapur Shyamganj highway on Tuesday (March 23) afternoon. The deceased driver Hannan Mia is the son of Ayub Ali of Bypass area of Mymensingh district headquarters.
According to the police, a truck carrying sand from Durgapur's Someshwari river on its way to Mymensingh collided head-on with another truck coming from the opposite direction. Both the trucks were twisted in the collision. Four people including two drivers were injured. Among them, Hannan Mia, the driver, died on the way to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
In this regard, Purbadhala Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Muhammad Shibirul Islam said that police sent the injured driver to Mymensingh. However, I got the news that the driver died before taking to Mymensingh. Apart from this, the vehicles affected by the accident have been removed from the road to keep the traffic moving normally. So far no charges have been filed in this incident.
