নেত্রকোনা জেলার দুর্গাপুর থানায় দূর্গাপুর বাজারে আগুনে পুড়ে তিনটি দোকানসহ মালামাল ছাই হয়ে গেছে। এতে প্রায় ৫০-৫৫ লাখ টাকার ক্ষতি হয়েছে বলে জানিয়েছেন ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত ব্যবসায়ীরা। রবিবার রাতে পৌরসভার পুলিশ মোড় এলাকায় এ ভয়াবহ অগ্নিকাণ্ডের ঘটনা ঘটে।
প্রত্যক্ষদর্শীরা জানান, রোববার দিবাগত রাত ১২ টার পর এ অগ্নিকাণ্ডের ঘটনা ঘটে। পরে স্থানীয়রা ও ফায়ার সার্ভিসের একটি ইউনিট প্রায় দুই ঘণ্টা চেষ্টা চালিয়ে আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে আনতে সক্ষম হয়। কিন্তু ততক্ষণে তিনটি দোকান পুড়ে ছাই হয়ে যায়। দোকানের কোনো মালামাল রক্ষা করা সম্ভব হয়নি। এতে স্বপন মিয়ার পার্টসের দোকান ও বেকারি'র গোডাউন, জুনাইদ মাহমুদীর পার্টসের দোকান এবং ওমর ফারুক মিয়ার খাবারের হোটেল দোকানের সকল মালামাল পুড়ে ছাই হয়ে যায়। ব্যবসায়ীদের দাবি আগুনে পুড়ে তাদের প্রায় ৫০-৫৫ লাখ টাকার ক্ষতি হয়েছে।
দুর্গাপুর ফায়ার সার্ভিসের (ভারপ্রাপ্ত) স্টেশন অফিসার এমদাদুল ইসলাম জানান, বিদ্যুতের শর্ট সার্কিট থেকে আগুনের সূত্রপাত হয়েছে বলে প্রাথমিকভাবে ধারণা করা হচ্ছে। অগ্নিকাণ্ডে কোনো হতাহতের ঘটনা ঘটেনি।

But by then three shops were burnt to ashes. It was not possible to save any goods of the shop.Swapan Mia's parts shop and bakery's godown, Junaid Mahmudi's parts shop and Omar Farooq Mia's food hotel shop were burnt to ashes. The traders claim that they have lost about 50-55 lakh rupees due to the fire.
Durgapur Fire Service (Acting) Station Officer Emdadul Islam said that the fire was initially believed to have started from an electrical short circuit. No casualties were reported in the fire.
