Profile -



Purbadhala thana was established in 1917 and was turned into an Upazila in 1983. The Upazila consists of 11 Union parisads, 226 mouzas and 334 Villages. Males constitute are 50.79% of the population and females 49.21%. This Upazilas eighteen Up Population is 114878,

Purbadhala is located at 24.9333° N 90.6028 ° E. It has 44799Units of House hold and total area 312.3 km2.

Historical events - Karim Shah and his Son Tipu Shah (Tipu pagal [mystic] ) settled at village ladirkanda in 1792 and led the pagol panthi movement against the oppressive zaminders.
